Research focus:
The most common genetic etiology of primary hydrocephalus is loss or impaired function of the neuronal cell adhesion molecule L1. Overall, it remains largely unknown how impaired L1 function causes congenital hydrocephalus. Our lab has established a C. elegans model to study L1 function and mechanisms.
