On October 20th HANDS hosted a webinar with Jill A. Morris, PhD. Dr. Morris is a Program Director at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).  Dr. Morris’ grant portfolio consists of multiple neurological disorders including hydrocephalus. As a Program Director, Dr. Morris assists grant applicants, develops initiatives, reviews progress reports, and facilitate funding.  In addition, she works to identify gaps and solutions in a research area by speaking with researchers in a field, collaborating with advocacy groups, attending conferences and organizing workshops.  Dr. Morris’s presentation provided an update on the current status of hydrocephalus research at NIH.  In addition, she described funding opportunities for hydrocephalus research, provided guidance on writing an NIH grant application, and took questions from attendees.
