Research focus:

My research focuses on a range of perinatal brain injury, from PBI associated with prematurity through infants with traumatic brain injury, from basic to translational to clinical research. A substantial subset of those patients develop hydrocephalus. My basic research focuses developing clinically-relevant models, understanding the pathogenesis, and on neuro-reparative strategies. My clinical work focuses on improving high reliability and reducing the complications of shunts and other pediatric neurosurgical procedures.
