Research focus:
Our research at the Johns Hopkins Center for CSF Disorders focuses on identifying both diagnostic and prognostic markers of NPH. We aim to identify biomarkers of NPH that best discriminate against other confounding diagnoses like Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. We also aim to identify prognostic markers that best predict sustained improvement following shunt surgery. In addition given our expertise in ICP monitoring we aim to further our understanding of CSF dynamics in various disorders including NPH, IIH, CSF leaks and Chiari syndromes.
