Research focus:
Understanding the relationship between neuroprosthetic device failure and mechanical (shear stress) and physiological (blood-brain barrier disruption) stimulations. Understanding underlying biological processes will dramatically change our perspective of chronically indwelling probes in the brain for enhanced next-generation medical devices for a life-changing device into the hands of patients, their families, and society.
