Research focus:

We have developed a mouse model of post-hemorrhagic hydrocephalus that correlates to premature human age by injecting blood or the lipid lysophosphatidic acid into the lateral ventricles of the brain. We are using this model to elucidate the mechanism of disease progression and determine key signaling pathways. This information will hopefully allow us to administer an inhibitor targeting hemorrhage-induced signaling pathways to prevent or mitigate hydrocephalus development.
