Research focus:
I am currently studying the localization of the TRPV4 (transient receptor potential vallinoid 4) channel in the choroid plexus epithelium and surrounding tissues of the brain to better understand a potential disease mechanism for hydrocephalus using a knock-out Gas8 (Growth Arrest Specific 8) mouse line. The Gas8 mouse line is a good model for juvenile hydrocephalus. Understanding this disease mechanism would be useful in developing targeted drug therapies.
