Research focus:

My overall goal is to further understanding of the pathophysiology of all forms of hydrocephalus in order to improve treatments for this disorder. My lab primarily employs animal models to characterize injury mechanisms, develop pharmacological approaches to supplement surgical treatments, and test the efficacy of implantable devices and surgical procedures. I collaborate with many neurosurgeons, neuroscientists and biomedical engineers, and most recently have focused on neuroinflammation, cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers, and anti-fibrotic drugs to ameliorate the effects of hydrocephalus.
